Andrićgrad is a tourist, cultural, administrative, and educational complex erected in nearby Višegrad, in the Republic of Srpska.
It was born from an idea conceived by the filmmaker Emir Kusturica, inspired by the works of the Nobel-prize winner Ivo Andrić, with the purpose of building bridges between the war-torn factions living in the area, promoting tourism, culture, peace, equality, literacy, bringing together people, regions, and the world.
A walk through the streets of Andrićgrad will have you travelling through time.
The town is rich in amenities such as a theatre, cinema, city hall, the building of the high school Ivo Andrić attended, river port, church, squares, old town, shops, and the Ivo Andrić memorial home.
